AI guidesTask: presentation

Make a presentation with AI: technical and sales decks, from outline to PPTX

AI can turn a technical document, an Excel sheet or a list of bullets into a draft deck in minutes. But a good presentation starts with a story and correct numbers, not with design. This guide shows which tool fits which deck, what is really free, and how to work properly, including right-to-left Hebrew.

01AI slides are like CAD for presentations

A CAD program does not decide where the column goes, but once you decide, it draws fast and clean. AI for slides works the same way: you set the message, the audience and the numbers, and it arranges slides, charts and design. Let it invent the story on its own and you get a beautiful deck that says nothing.

02What a good workflow looks like

  1. 1OutlineAudience, goal and 8 to 12 slide titles
  2. 2Content and dataShort text, tables and charts from real sources
  3. 3Design and brandCompany template, colors, fonts and images
  4. 4Speaker notesWhat to say on each slide and likely questions
  5. 5Check and exportHebrew, numbers, then PPTX or PDF

06Step by step: a good deck in an hour, not a day

  1. 1

    1. Start with the outline, not slides

Ask: 'Suggest a 10-slide outline for [audience]; the goal: [decision I want]'. Fix the titles before going on.

  2. 2

    2. Add data from a real source

Upload the Excel or PDF and ask for an editable native chart. Every number comes from the file, not from the model's memory.

  3. 3

    3. Apply the template and brand

Open the company template first in PowerPoint, Canva or Gamma, and only then ask for slides.

  4. 4

    4. Write speaker notes

Ask: 'Write 60 to 90 seconds of speaker notes per slide, and 3 questions the audience may ask'.

  5. 5

    5. Check Hebrew and numbers

Go slide by slide: text direction, units, percentages and standard numbers against the official source.

  6. 6

    6. Export properly

Keep a PPTX for editing and send a PDF to clients, so fonts and layout do not shift.

07Example: a technical deck on chemical anchors

Technical support engineer at a fastening companyasks
Attached are a technical data sheet and an Excel file of load values. Build 10 slides for an engineers' seminar on the open template: problem, working principle, load table as a bar chart, correct installation in 5 steps, common mistakes, summary. Take every number only from the files, and mark [CHECK] wherever you have no source.
gets
10 slides on the company template, an editable native bar chart, an installation flow diagram and speaker notes. The engineer checks the values against the data sheet and removes the [CHECK] marks.
ToolClaude for PowerPoint with the company template open

08Example: a sales deck for a contractor

Sales managerasks
Build a 7-slide sales deck for a building contractor: their pain (time, failures on site), our solution, 3 benefits in numbers from the attached document, a sample project, offer and call to action. Matter-of-fact tone, no superlatives.
gets
A designed draft with images, exported to PPTX for final tweaks and to PDF for email. The sales manager swaps stock images for real site photos.
ToolGamma, or Claude with the Canva connector

09Hebrew right-to-left: do and don't

Do

  • Ask explicitly for 'all text in Hebrew, right-aligned, RTL paragraph direction'
  • Pick a font with good Hebrew support, such as Arial, Assistant, Heebo or Rubik
  • Check numbers, units and brackets inside Hebrew sentences (for example kN and mm)
  • Check that charts and tables read in the right order
  • Export to PDF before sending to lock fonts and layout

Don't

  • Don't assume Hebrew support: full deck generation with Gemini in Slides is English only for now
  • Don't mix two languages in one Copilot prompt: a prompt supports one output language
  • Don't send a PPTX with a font the client does not have installed
  • Don't keep an English template with arrows and icons pointing the wrong way
  • Don't trust automatic translation of technical terms without checking

10Pitfalls to know

Accuracy

Invented numbers

AI may fill in missing values. Require every number to come from a file you uploaded, and check it.

Accuracy

Standards and clauses

A standard or clause number on a slide must be checked against the official document, not the chat answer.

Security

Outside files

A template or file from an unknown source can hide instructions. Work only with trusted files.

Privacy

Client data

Upload prices, contracts and client data only to tools and plans your company approved.

Rights

Images and rights

AI images and web images are not always free for commercial use. Check the tool's terms.

Content

Pretty but empty

Design does not replace a message. If you cannot sum up the deck in one sentence, go back to the outline.

11FAQ

Can I get a real PowerPoint file for free?

Yes. Claude creates PPTX files on the Free plan too, and Gamma Free exports to PPTX and PDF. Free routes have usage limits, and some add the tool's branding.

What is the difference between Claude in chat and Claude for PowerPoint?

In chat, Claude produces a file you download. Claude for PowerPoint is an add-in that works inside the open deck, reads the company template and edits specific slides. The add-in is available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise.

Do these tools handle Hebrew well?

The content is usually fine, but text direction, fonts and numbers need checking. Full deck generation with Gemini in Slides is currently English only, so there it is better to build in English and translate, or pick another tool.

How do I make the AI use the company template?

Open the template before prompting. Claude for PowerPoint and Copilot read the master and layouts. In Canva use the Brand Kit, and in Gamma and Beautiful.ai a custom theme on a paid plan.

PPTX or PDF?

PPTX when someone still needs to edit or present with animations. PDF when sending to a client, because it keeps fonts and layout on any computer.
